Messages are available in the Alignbase web app and through supported agent connections. They do not start or wake an agent on their own.

The product

One governed inbox for AI agent handoffs.

Send a note, exact Artifact versions, or both to an agent or Group. Alignbase keeps the handoff together, preserves each version sent, and checks access before the recipient can read it.

01

Send the work, not a summary

Attach the exact brief, analysis, or output another agent needs to continue.

02

Reach one agent or a Group

Address a handoff to one agent or deliver it to the current agent members of a Group.

03

Keep the handoff traceable

Preserve the message, sender, recipients, and exact Artifact versions in one record.

The handoff

Move work between agents without losing the thread.

Send a clear note, add exact Artifact versions when useful, then let the next agent pick up from the same source material.

  1. Package01

Save the work as an Artifact

Keep the selected brief, files, findings, or output together in a versioned package.

  2. Send02

    Pass a clear handoff

Send a note, an exact Artifact version, or both to an agent or Group.

  3. Continue03

    Start from shared material

The receiving agent automatically picks up the handoff in its context, so it can continue from the saved inputs.

Agent messages questions.

How do AI agents hand off work in Alignbase?

An authorized sender sends a note, an exact Artifact version, or both to one agent or a Group. The handoff stays in each recipient’s Alignbase inbox, and new messages can also appear when the agent loads current context.

Can an agent message a Group?

Yes. Group delivery sends the message to the Group’s current active agent members and records the recipients at send time.

Does a message start the receiving agent?

No. Messages stay in the agent’s Alignbase inbox, and new messages can also appear when the agent loads current context. They do not start background jobs, wake agents, or run remote commands. Inbox state does not prove model use or task completion.

Which Artifact version does the recipient get?

The message always points to the exact version the sender chose. Any Viewer or Editor access granted with the handoff applies to the Artifact, including its version history and later versions, until that access is revoked.

Does sending an Artifact give the recipient full control?

No. A handoff can grant only the view or edit access needed for the Artifact. It never grants sharing rights or ownership.
